Session Recording

As a recording artist, I push the flute outside of its pre-conceived boundaries to up-level every song and project. I’m available for flute session work in all genres and styles.

I record on the following instruments:

C flute, glissando headjoint (a whammy bar of sorts for the flute that was designed by flute legend Robert Dick), alto flute, bass flute, piccolo, vocals and omnichord.

  • Rozalind was a joy to work with. Her flute parts are very creative and unique and she's very flexible to be able to jump into any genre you throw at her. She takes feedback well and her communication is excellent. Highly recommended!

Brad Weber - Producer / DJ / Pick a Piper / Coy Haste / drummer of Caribou / Stereo Ferment label owner

  • Rozalind was able to turn around my request quickly, providing clean audio files, and a choice of performances, but the truly amazing thing was that she listened to the music and was inspired to include some additional improvised textures. I didn’t know that the flute could make sounds like that, but they layered perfectly and really made the piece special! The film’s director and myself were both very happy with her contributions to the score!

Janal Bechthold - Canadian award-winning music composer for film, tv, and interactive media

  • Rozalind's tracks she laid down for us on bass flute were sublime. She is always great to work with and gets things done right on time! I look forward to when we next work together and will be calling her again.

 Recording FAQs

  • I record my flute parts dry in Logic Pro 10 with a Neumann condenser mic in mono.

  • My average rate is $300 - $500 a song. This varies depending on how quick the turnaround time is and what the part is requiring for complexity and arrangement.

  • A WAV file of your entire song without flute, starting at the beginning of your track and include your BPM in the title if possible.

If you have a specific part in mind, send me the sheet music for it and I’ll do my best to replicate it.

My favourite style of recording is when I get to create a part for you without sheet music. I usually work on recording three different takes which you can edit however you wish!

Let me know if you have a specific style in mind. Are there places you want flute or don’t want flute? Is there a specific type of flute you’re envisioning in your music? These are important things to consider.

If you have a very specific part in mind, send me a WAV file of your entire song with a flute guide created through MIDI, sung or played on an instrument of your choice. Start your bounce at the beginning of your track and include your BPM in the title.

I can play without a click if you recorded your song live off the floor or without a click.

Let me know what format you’d like to receive the tracks in. I usually record in 44.1 kHz / 24-bit WAV unless instructed otherwise.

  • Once we’ve met over Zoom or by phone, I will send you a contract to fill out.

  • I can improvise in any style and I also read sheet music. If you have a specific part in mind, providing sheet music is best.

  • Depending on my availability, I can usually complete a track within 2-3 days.

  • I will upload the tracks to a private folder on my Google Drive or I can transfer them to you via WeTransfer.

  • Within Canada, you can pay by INTERAC e-Transfer. If paying outside of Canada, I prefer payments through Wise. We will discuss this during our call.

  • I will provide an invoice if requested. Please include the name you wish for it to be invoiced to.
