It’s been an exciting time with the highly-anticipated album release of SIGHT by Toronto’s Pick A Piper. Caribou musician, Brad Weber invited me to record flute for his Pick a Piper track, “Fragments”. I sent him my flute takes with a twist. I recorded it for effected alto flute and focused on the percussive sounds I could create from the instrument. Looks like this great track is getting lots of love all over the world, including by the fine folks at Exclaim and BBC Radio 6 Music‘s 6 Music Recommends w/ Tom Ravenscroft. Right on Pick A Piper aka Brad Weber. Digging that the Ali Ryerson Gemeinhardt Musical Instruments alto flute is getting sexy spins around the world. It was a real treat to record multiple flute tracks for Swedish film composer, Oscar Fogelström. Check out NORDIC NATURE on Universal Music Production: https://www.universalproductionmusic.com/en-se/discover/albums/17435/NordicNature
Writing and Recording
A quick update to let everyone know what’s on the go for this hibernating flute looper. I’ve been taking a bit of time away from the stage to focus on writing and recording some new material for a bunch of new solo recording projects. Can’t wait to share more about those projects real soon! Been steady at it with a bunch of remote recording sessions and film work too. More exciting news coming soon! Stay warm and see you in the New Year!
