On a beautiful day last May while I was attending the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) Conference in Halifax, Sarah Denim and Nicole Cecile Holland of AT LAND FILMS shot a video of me performing an audience favourite, THE GAZE by Shona Thomson.

Say what?!!! SUNSET SUNRISE got nominated for an East Coast Music Association (ECMA) award for Electronic Recording of the Year!!! Who would have thought that a recording we created with so much love for our dearly departed loved ones, Graham Howcroft and Ryan Parke would be celebrated like this. What a huge honour it is to be nominated for this award.
We took inspiration from the St. John’s sunrises/sunsets last February for the RPM Challenge. Much of the musical inspiration came from early Kraftwerk and the beautiful effected flute of Paul Horn.

FROM THE RIVER TO THE OCEAN won ECMA Electronic Recording of the Year! My heart is filled to the brim. I head back home to St. John’s today, celebrating this victory that only happens from a wonderful team of people recognizing my vision and supporting me every step of the way!
