Time to share the raw and delicate bare bones of a Time to share the raw and delicate bare bones of a song that’ll be on the PUSH & PULL album called, “SONG FOR MAGGIE”.

The song is about an 18 year old house servant, Maggie Power who was found dead in Little Harbour in the charged year of 1914. Maggie still haunts the highway on stormy nights.

Thanks to amazing historian and author Dave Clarke for helping me get the facts straight for this one. A heavy topic for sure and it stirs up a lot inside. RIP Maggie Power.
YOU HOLD THE KEY TO YOUR HEART ❤️ You have ev YOU HOLD THE KEY TO YOUR HEART ❤️

You have everything it takes to achieve the dreams you desire, make those hard choices and solve any challenge. It may not always feel that way but trust me when I say you do.

I'd like to offer you a way to feel supported while you take those courageous and inspiring actions that increase your momentum and transform your life!

👉 I'm taking on 3 new coaching clients in February. If you've been wanting to try coaching, here's your chance! Send me a DM and we'll get you booked for a complimentary coaching call.

One of my biggest passions is to help clients see their true potential as they witness what is special about themselves. Coaching changes lives. Having a coach in my life (I have many) has been a profound experience. I feel seen, heard and celebrated in a way I never did throughout my career. My only regret is not having discovered coaching until much later in life.

Everyone deserves their own personal cheerleader - someone who can empower us to see a bigger version of ourselves than we can see for ourself. Someone who challenges those limiting beliefs we've repeated for so long that we believe them to be true. Beliefs that might be holding us back from living LOUD and PROUD in the present. Someone who can help us see that we have exactly what it takes to solve our own problems as we innovate, reinvent, take risks and GROW.

If you've been itching to try coaching, send me a message. It may just transform your life. ❤️

ICE PARADE is really coming along! @joshua_m._cain ICE PARADE is really coming along! @joshua_m._caine tightened up the edit after I figured out the tempo, time signature and chord progressions on the omnichord. 6 varied chord progressions for 6 icebergs in the parade and all in 5/4 at BPM 160. How I’m going to be able to play this is another thing but I sure am having fun!!! 😊
I've been spending time listening back to the cree I've been spending time listening back to the creepy flute track I recorded in the haunted Gibraltar Point Lighthouse on Toronto Island when the lights went out and we could hear thumping the whole time I was playing. We're planning to include it on a track we'll be releasing in February.

As I've been sifting through these sessions, I found this video that I totally forgot about where I'm jamming in the same location during the day. Such a different vibe from day to night! One of my favourite sounds on the alto flute is this pizzicato sound that reminds me of plucking on a stringed instrument. Can't wait to get back to record in that lighthouse again! 😀

SELF-CARE TIP #8 - WHAT ELEPHANTS ARE STANDING IN SELF-CARE TIP #8 - WHAT ELEPHANTS ARE STANDING IN THE WAY OF YOUR FUTURE SELF? ❤️

Feeling overwhelmed just thinking about everything you have to get done? This one is based on an exercise @katherineemeneth shared with me during one of her amazing career training sessions and it's stuck with me ever since.

Put 10 minutes on the timer. For the next 10 minutes, create a list of everything that's been looping in your head. The things that are taking up a lot of space in your thoughts that may be overwhelming you. Things you've been avoiding. Things that seem to be way too much or scary.

For 10 minutes, put it all down on paper.

Once the 10 minutes is up, take a look at your list. Circle the 3 things that feel most overwhelming and heavy. Recognize the things you want to avoid the most. What are those elephants in the room?

As you look at those three things on the list, imagine your future self and what your future self needs to thrive. Pick the one of those 3 big elephants on your list and become curious about it. What is one tiny action you could take to face that elephant in the room? Sometimes it's that one action we take that changes everything and it's often way less work to get it done than to avoid it!

Is there a daily action you can take to ensure that elephant never has to visit again?

I had an experience of this in such a huge way this past weekend.

I'm not a fan of bookkeeping and in one of my jobs, I have to do a lot of it. When times get hectic and when life happens in unpredictable ways, it's the first thing I let go of despite knowing how much better it makes me feel when I'm on top of it.

One month of bookkeeping procrastination becomes two and then three. Can you relate? I was so stressed out about not taking care of this HUGE elephant in the room that it was causing me to avoid other things too! I needed to face that elephant head on in order to make room for all of the other awesome projects I'm working on. Avoiding it was taking way too much room!!!

So after journalling about what things were taking room in my thoughts, it was obvious what I needed to do. I had to tackle completing those financials for 2022.

SELF-CARE TIP #7 - HOW AM I GOING TO SHOW UP FOR THAT HUMAN BEING TODAY? SEAL IT WITH A HIGH 5! ❤️

I know it seems silly to talk to ourselves as we give ourselves a high five as our biggest fan in the mirror but I invite the possibility that it may just hold some power!

Doing this mirror work for the past year has definitely helped me increase my confidence in myself and in the choices I make.

Try it on for size and let me know how it works for you! 😀
SELF-CARE TIP #6 - SPROUTING ❤️ Who loves gro SELF-CARE TIP #6 - SPROUTING ❤️

Who loves growing their own veggies? Sprouting is a fun and affordable way to get some organic veggies in ya. Kids love it too!

All you need is a glass mason jar with a screen and good air ventilation. Seeds can be bought at any health food store or ordered online.

Soak some overnight and then rinse them twice a day as you put them on a 45 degree angle for drainage. Most sprouts are ready within 5-7 days. So easy and such a healthy habit! Enjoy. 😀

SELF-CARE TIP #5 - RULE OF THIRDS - WE HAVE CHOICE SELF-CARE TIP #5 - RULE OF THIRDS - WE HAVE CHOICE ❤️

In a social media world where likes, comments and instant gratification seem to rule, it can be easy to slip into this place where those things have an impact on how we feel about ourselves.

Lots of comparisons can happen and in no time, we can go from feeling like we're in a great mood to feeling totally inadequate. And how another expresses oneself can trigger so much within us - without the person even trying to do so!

Social media can be a terribly lonely and confusing place. It can especially be painful when we take a lack of response to what we're putting out there as meaning that others aren't into us or that they don't dig what we do. Quite the contrary!

A mentor once shared the rule of thirds in relation to the entertainment biz and it's stuck with me ever since.

👉 33% of people will LOVE what you do
👉 33% we be cynical, pessimistic and possibly even hate your work
👉 33% will have no opinion at all and especially take no action as they sit on the fence watching from the sidelines

So what part of the thirds do you choose to be when interacting with others?

Someone who chooses to support, celebrate and encourage their friends? Someone who feels the need to go into defender or attack mode when another is sharing things they're processing? Someone who is the expert as they tell others how they should be doing something or behaving in a situation? Someone who says nothing as they observe the situation and are silently judging that person for what they're putting out there? There are so many more I could list here but you get the drift.

I think we can all admit that we've been either a receiver of these situations or an instigator of them. The social media world is a complicated place!

But isn't it amazing that we always have a choice in how we move forward in the world. We get to choose how we interact with others. Something to keep in mind as we interact on social media. Our actions and especially our words are POWERFUL and MEANINGFUL!!!!

SELF-CARE TIP #4 - HEAD TO BED BEFORE 9PM AT LEAST SELF-CARE TIP #4 - HEAD TO BED BEFORE 9PM AT LEAST ONCE THIS WEEK TO HAVE A GREAT START TO YOUR DAY TOMORROW! ❤️

Not easy to manage in our hectic lives but the benefits of this are immense! Tonight's definitely my night for this one after a full day of data entry and staring at computer screens!

If you're a night owl like I am, this one can be really tough to pull off but when I do it, it does wonders for my energy levels and my emotional wellbeing! There's healing magic in those zzzz's that happen before midnight.

What are some of your favourite ways to take care of yourself? I'd love to hear all about them in the comments below!
SELF-CARE TIP #3 - CREATE A VISION BOARD AND WATCH SELF-CARE TIP #3 - CREATE A VISION BOARD AND WATCH YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE! ❤️

Do you love creating visions boards as much as we do? It's one of my favourite ways to ring in the New Year!

I'm always amazed as I reflect back on what has come true for me from the previous year. When I really have a visual of what's possible. Usually at least 80% of it happens!

If you've never tried creating one, I invite you to try. You can paste pictures, phrases or photos from magazines. I like to write keywords and quotes out and play with numbers. Anything goes! What's most important is that it speaks to you in ways you can feel it.

I invite you to think about what may be possible for you this year. Don't think of how you're going to get there. Just plant the seed and then release it to the universe with no expectation.

Have fun! 😀
SELF-CARE TIP #2 - MAKE SOME HOMEMADE FIRE CIDER T SELF-CARE TIP #2 - MAKE SOME HOMEMADE FIRE CIDER TO KEEP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM STRONG! ❤️

Have you ever tried FIRE CIDER? There are many different recipes for this online and a lot of them often taste pretty yucky (mine included) but does it ever help your immune system, digestion and speeding up your metabolism! Perfect for when you're aiming to put your system back into balance after all of that holiday food your body may not be used to eating.

SIMPLE FIRE CIDER RECIPE

1. Peel the skin off from a few large knuckles of fresh ginger, cut it up into chunks and place in a high speed blender. Add a few cups of water and blend away until it's been blended into a pulp.

2. Strain the mixture through a fine-meshed strainer to keep just the liquid. Make sure to press it through the strainer until you almost get a dry pulp to get all of the goodness from the ginger out.

3. Juice 6 lemons and add to your ginger water.

4. Add 1/2 cup of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar.

5. Sprinkle some cayenne pepper into every jar you make.

Some things you can also add (but we keep ours simple) is unpasteurized honey, fresh garlic, oil of oregano, echinacea and fireweed.

We enjoy a 2 ounce shot of our mixture in a huge glass of water first thing in the morning every day and it starts the day off right!

It'll keep in a well-sealed jar in the fridge for 5 days.

Fair warning. It tastes horrible!!!! Try at your own risk! Ha ha! 😀

LET ME NOT SEE MYSELF AS LIMITED ❤️ Josh and LET ME NOT SEE MYSELF AS LIMITED ❤️

Josh and I decided to bring in the New Year as we took some time yesterday to get really still. We reflected on the past year and envisioned what we'd like to experience this year.

We watched inspiring videos and talked about what words best represent where we think we're headed. My one word was LIMITLESS.

Limitless of my preconceived limitations. Unlimited potential that is always available for me. Limitless in my curiosity of what might be possible when I focus on adjusting my limiting self talk.

I am putting this out there for anyone who may be feeling like they've been super mean to themselves this holiday season and may be feeling stuck. As my coach @shannapranaitis reminds me of all the time, "Can you trust that you placed an order to the universe and its on its way to you?"

⚡️ Maybe you're confused about your future and where you're headed.

⚡️ Maybe the holiday season was a total shit show of drama and heightened emotions (I know we've had our moments of that!).

⚡️ Maybe you feel scared of all those steps you know you need to take in order to move in a different direction.

⚡️ Maybe you're trying to quit an unhealthy habit that feels like too much to let go of right now.

⚡️ Maybe you're tired of all the planning, preparing and fast pace and are scared about what 2023 might be like.

Let me tell you, I totally hear you! New Year's can stir up a lot inside of us.

Wherever you're at, I invite you to embrace accepting yourself - just as you are! We're all a work in progress. All I see is that you're one friggin' BEAUTIFUL human I'm grateful to know.

Sometimes those judgements of not being enough / not doing enough that we place on ourselves are signs from our body that we need to slow down and take some time to rest. Maybe you need more time to feel safe about venturing into new things. That's totally ok! Maybe that's exactly what's needed. We don't always have to take those big leaps. It's ok to take the time to let things unfold naturally.
