Say what?!!! SUNSET SUNRISE got nominated for an East Coast Music Association (ECMA) award for Electronic Recording of the Year!!! Who would have thought that a recording we created with so much love for our dearly departed loved ones, Graham Howcroft and Ryan Parke would be celebrated like this. What a huge honour it is to be nominated for this award.
We took inspiration from the St. John’s sunrises/sunsets last February for the RPM Challenge. Much of the musical inspiration came from early Kraftwerk and the beautiful effected flute of Paul Horn.
Sending a great big hug and a deep bow of gratitude to my musical partners, Kim Henninger and Shawn Parke as well as one of my favourite yoga teachers in the whole wide world, Stephen Vardy of Moksha Yoga St. John’s. The lovely artwork is by talented artist, Anne Pickard-Vaandering. None of this would have been possible without the beautiful mixing/mastering skills of Stephen Lilly. A heartwarming moment for sure! Wow! I didn’t see that one coming!
