No words can truly express how delighted I feel about this new partnership with Di Zhao Flutes. I fell in love with Di Zhao’s instruments the moment I tried them at The National Flute Association Convention in Chicago. These flutes sing to my soul. They are beautifully crafted with such care and precision. To be sponsored by a progressive company like Di Zhao Flutes is a dream come true. I am proud to stand behind a flute company who focuses on innovation and excellence.

Article in the Newfoundland Quarterly
Thanks to the Newfoundland Quarterly for this really cool article about growing up on Toronto Island, how the flute found me, why I am so proud to call Newfoundland home and what inspired me to carve a path in the audio-visual world. Warms my heart to celebrate and acknowledge some great mentors along the way. http://nqonline.ca/article/rosalind-macphail-performing-has-always-flowed-to-me-naturally

CBC Radio’s “First Listen”
Some CBC Newfoundland and Labrador love for the new album, DON’T LET ME FALL TOO FAR. An interview with lovely Weekend AM host, Heather Barrett for “First Listen”. We play some of my tunes and speak about the new album, touring, the gear I use, what it’s like to pursue a music career that’s totally outside of the box and why I love the St. John’s music scene so darn much. https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-72-weekend-am/clip/15745011-rozalind-macphail-plays-the-flute-but-thats-just-her-starting-point
Flute Love for “Fragments” on Exclaim and BBC Radio 6
It’s been an exciting time with the highly-anticipated album release of SIGHT by Toronto’s Pick A Piper. Caribou musician, Brad Weber invited me to record flute for his Pick a Piper track, “Fragments”. I sent him my flute takes with a twist. I recorded it for effected alto flute and focused on the percussive sounds I could create from the instrument. Looks like this great track is getting lots of love all over the world, including by the fine folks at Exclaim and BBC Radio 6 Music‘s 6 Music Recommends w/ Tom Ravenscroft. Right on Pick A Piper aka Brad Weber. Digging that the Ali Ryerson Gemeinhardt Musical Instruments alto flute is getting sexy spins around the world. The East – Review of “Don’t Let Me Fall Too Far”
“It reminds me of the type of ethereal sound explored by artists like Kate Bush…The idea of this record being intended for live looping performance by a solo artist continues to haunt my listening experience; I really want to see that show.” Click here to read the review
