It’s amazing what we can accomplish in one day w It’s amazing what we can accomplish in one day when we’re determined to make big progress. ✨ 2 applications are now submitted and the next 2 are 80% done! ✨18 freezer bags of local black magic kale are now ready to make those winter smoothies the healthiest they can be. ✨ But the best part has been the most inspiring and productive recording studio session with my favourite NL producer, Terry Barrow! He has made me super excited to bring PUSH & PULL to the finish line! 7 more packed days like this and then it’s off to Twillingate to focus on filmmaking, playing in nature and sounding the best I ever have for recording the keeper flute and vocal parts on the new album. Life sure is moving fast but wow. I’m so fortunate to be collaborating with such brilliant and supportive people!

Oh and did I mention working until 3am last night on the new website that we launch this week? Ha ha! 😊 Wish me luck. I’m gonna need it. ❤️
It brought me so much joy this morning to enjoy a It brought me so much joy this morning to enjoy a coffee with my hard working honey. He's supposed to have 2 days off from Hudson & Rex but when work calls at this particular point in the season, you take it! Both Josh and I have been working crazy long hours so when we get to spend time together, it's such a treat. I'm so proud of @joshua_m._caine - for his dedication to always keep growing, his love for his line of work and how he's the best team player ever! In a week from now, Josh and I unplug from everything to head to Twillingate. We'll be collaborating on the PUSH & PULL project as we shoot a whole bunch of video footage and connect with those dear souls we cherish. ❤️

It feels like Christmas in our household today in It feels like Christmas in our household today in such a HUGE way and definitely an 'all grown up' moment! ❤️ For over a year now, something hasn't felt right with my health. If I'm really honest with myself, I've probably been feeling a little off health wise since I've been working mostly from home which has been a long time. It was subtle at first but bit by bit, the signs were impossible to ignore. I would always notice how much healthier I felt being on the road. How I got way better sleeps when I was staying at other people's places. I also seemed to be gaining weight worse than normal and felt congested all the time. My stomach was upset - to the point that I thought I was gluten and dairy intolerant. I was having horrible dreams. I woke up feeling totally unrested and foggy. I knew something was wrong but it was a mystery of what. It took quite a bit of time to figure it out but now Josh and I are pretty certain we know what it's been - mold toxicity. Things came to a head when we discovered that our bedroom walls were covered in mold where my dresser used to be and then we discovered mold all over our mattress! The apartment where we live has really poor ventilation and we don't have a window that will open in our bedroom. Needless to say, we threw out the dresser and the bed, been bleaching everything and started using a dehumidifier all the time in our bedroom to help keep the moisture out. We've been living on an air mattress for months and months as we've been saving up to purchase an affordable mattress. I can't tell you how excited I was when the bed in a box arrived today! Day by day, Josh and I are getting more on track in our lives after a really tough bunch of years financially. Today makes me feel like we've totally LEVELLED UP in life! Thank you @sleepdouglas. Feeling so grateful right now. I'm gonna sleep like a baby tonight. 🥰

I have all the time in the world to see this task to the finish line and I’m making my wellbeing my #1 priority. ❤️ I totally forgot how much a bubble bath in candlelight can totally change my entire way of being and it’s all thanks to transformational coach aka magic worker, @shannapranaitis for reminding me to focus on taking the actions and making those decisions that align with my joyful, confident and abundant sparkly dragonfly. ❤️ Shanna reminded me of what I’d rather be feeling instead of being stressed, overwhelmed and tired. She showed me tools to regulate my nervous system and highlighted all the different ways we can incorporate rest throughout our day - not just on holidays! Do yourself a favour and book a session with her. She literally changed my life for the better. 🥰

It hasn't been easy, especially with all of the career hats I wear throughout any given day but it's necessary for my happiness and wellbeing. The way I'm applying his lessons is to really focus on that ONE THING with my whole heart. Everything else can wait. It feels so much easier to tackle that way. Being present with my whole heart does miraculous things for my peace of mind and focus. My first submission for this showcasing and residency madness month is almost done. Now that feels SO GOOD! 🥰

SOMETIMES YOU JUST GOTTA GET SILLY WHEN THINGS GET SOMETIMES YOU JUST GOTTA GET SILLY WHEN THINGS GETS REAL. ❤️ I've been focusing every moment of my day in ways that move every aspect of my business forward and it's felt INTENSE! The pace of everything has been moving so FAST. Are you feeling it too? This morning, I read through 3 legal agreements created by awesome entertainment lawyer, @oceantownmusic. Matt is such a gift in our music industry. He never makes me feel like any of my questions are stupid. Every question I ask is valued and taken into consideration. I've been fortunate to receive a grant from @jennifernrosenfeld's amazing ArtsMBA program to hire Matt to create a Side Artist Agreement, Collaboration Agreement and Split Sheet with Administrative Rights. These agreements are game changers for my session recording work and for placement in TV and film. Reading Matt's brilliant language was exciting because he's literally thought of everything to cover for aspects of what I need in those agreements. At the same time, it was super overwhelming as I tried to figure out what it actually all meant! By the end of reading through, I got up out of my seat and danced it out as I giggled about how worked up I was getting about it all!!! You see, that's the thing. Sometimes we've just gotta laugh, move and be silly about how serious it's all feeling. We've gotta shift that energy around when things feel like they're too much and come back to it with a fresh perspective. For me, doing a dance as I get all silly and giggle makes the world of difference! I hope this video makes you feel all silly inside too. Sarah is such a gem and I’m definitely lucky to be working with her! ❤️ It’s literally been years of me wanting to make my online presence more effective for sales conversion. It’s a game changer for every aspect of my business. Sarah has been helping me so much in understand what’s been missing, what trends are happening and what language attracts an organic following. It’s such a privilege to be spending time with her! This is a sample of copy from my 55 page website copy document that’s taken me months to write. I’m constantly revising the copy as I learn more and more about what’s needed. This process has definitely not been easy but it’s been so rewarding. I can relate in such a huge way. So many of us creative entrepreneurs regularly go through this in total silence. For me, hearing crickets when I put myself out there triggers this deeply rooted fear that I've totally lost my power and my ability to make a meaningful difference in the world. In an inspiring an empowering guest speaker session by @merelkriegsman in @jennifernrosenfeld's game-changing ArtsMBA program, Merel invited us to ask ourselves what we can do in the physical world to get more control. So what am I going to do? I'm going to: ⚡️GET LOUDER ⚡️ TAKE UP MORE SPACE ⚡️ SAY THE THINGS I DON'T USUALLY SAY in fear of rocking the boat ⚡️ Be on a mad mission to DECLUTTER and CLEAN my living space because it gives me room to THINK BIGGER ⚡️ Take care of being in TOTAL AWARENESS of where my finances are really at ⚡️ I'm gonna MOVE MY BODY in order to give myself a sense of SAFETY, CALM and STRENGTH! ⚡️ I'm gonna WATCH, LISTEN and READ all that INSPIRES and EMPOWERS me! ⚡️ I'm gonna CHOOSE how I SPEND MY TIME with others - not have it dictated to me ⚡️ I'm gonna knock all those things off that long 'to do' list like a total badass who's got ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD! Feeling super proud of my grade 8 flute student, W Feeling super proud of my grade 8 flute student, Wesley who had his first orchestral flute audition and totally nailed it! He just got invited to play flute in the Calos Youth Orchestras. It brings back memories of auditioning for the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra and how it was a total game changer for my playing. I am so excited for him! Congrats Wesley. You deserve this! 😊
TAKING MORE TIME TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW DOES NOT M TAKING MORE TIME TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW DOES NOT MAKE YOU STUPID ❤️ I spent most of my childhood years thinking I was stupid. They put me in a special learning class because I just wasn't able to keep up with the speed of where everyone else was at. Did that make me stupid? No! I just picked up things differently. I've been thinking about this one a lot lately as I dig deep into learning a whole new bunch of ideas and concepts to move forward in my career. Every time I circle back to something, I figure out another piece of that puzzle. Things often don't make much sense to me on the first try. Once I find multiple ways to understand a new idea, I usually am quick to excel at it but the time it takes to get there...well...sometimes it feels like eternity. Sometimes it can make me feel pretty dumb. Take redesigning a new website for example and all of the courses I've taken to grasp online marketing. Do I feel like I grasp most of what I've been learning? Nope! I get glimpses of returning to similar concepts explained differently and seeing more of the pieces revealed - almost like how our iPhone or laptop map our fingerprints for security. Each time we circle back, the picture gets clearer. Doesn't matter what it is for me - my brain requires circling back and seeing it from many different angles to finally get it. I'm putting this out there for anyone who feels much like me. I know there are lots of different learners out there. You're not dumb if it takes you extra time to learn and understand something. You just learn differently. 🥰

There are many reasons I made the switch but the main one is that I think it's total BS that Distrokid charges an extra fee to have your music stay online after one passes away. Totally tacky! I'm on a mission to complete a revamp of my website by the end of this month AND do an official release of a remastered single that I always felt slipped through the pandemic cracks called, NEVER LET GO. Noah Mintz did a stellar job with the mastering and @joshua_m._caine and I are working on a new music video edit for it too! Coming real soon! Stay tuned! 🥰

DO YOU EVER FEEL THREATENED BY OTHERS COPYING YOUR DO YOU EVER FEEL THREATENED BY OTHERS COPYING YOUR IDEAS? ❤️ I had the most amazing coaching session today where we explored this fear in such a profound way that I had to share it with you! So many of us creatives can feel threatened when we're pouring our heart and soul into carving out our own career path - especially when we sense someone else is trying to copy us. I can't tell you how many times I've experienced this in my career. Sure, people will say it's the biggest form of flattery when someone copies an idea that we felt was ours us but deep down, it can feel very threatening when we see it happen. The competitive and cut throat nature of our arts industry can play tricks on us. It can convince us that there's not enough room for everyone to succeed. Are thoughts like this helpful or unhelpful for us? Do they feel expansive or constrictive in our body? What if we visualize the person who's 'stealing' our idea or concept as someone who's actually priming our market for us to receive even more? Maybe this very person is softening the ground for us to thrive. Maybe, just maybe the situation is preparing us to succeed even more! It's so easy to feel like there are a limited number of spaces and opportunities in the world but what if we could truly believe that there's a place for what EVERYONE shares? I can totally understand how it can be hard to see it this way. Sometimes it takes an encouraging reminder from someone who sees the magic of our gifts and isn't afraid to acknowledge them. So let me do that for you right now! ✨ You have nothing to fear ✨ You are worthy of shining with your brilliant ideas that only you know how to share - exactly as you are! ✨ No one can copy you, no matter how hard they try Believe it. Feel it. Trust it. ❤️
5 THINGS I LEARNED FROM DOG SITTING ❤️ ✨ A 5 THINGS I LEARNED FROM DOG SITTING ❤️ ✨ A FRESH PERSPECTIVE CAN HELP US SEE THINGS IN WAYS WE NEVER SAW THEM BEFORE After staying in a different neighbourhood for the past three weeks, I feel like I understand my city in a totally different way. I’ve spent time exploring parts of the city that I’ve never really spent time in before, like Pippy Park. There are some seriously gorgeous trails in there and I’m excited to explore more of them! Snoopy is pretty stubborn when it comes to where he likes to take his walks, to the point that if you don’t go down the path he wants to go, he won’t move a step further! Because of this, I’d do everything I could to trick him on his walks as I took him to spots he wasn’t used to going. He got such a kick out of it and I got a kick out of always experiencing something new every time I walked him. This can be applied to so many areas of our life where we feel resistant or stuck in a rut. A fresh perspective works wonders! ✨ WALKING IN NATURE MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY DOES AMAZING THINGS FOR STRESS RELIEF It's really amazing how getting out in that sun, breathing in the fresh air, putting our feet on the grass and getting our heart pumping can do so much for feeling grounded. I also loved how I was so in tune with the changing of the season and the present moment. Rain or shine, getting out throughout the day has been so good for my wellbeing! ✨ MORNING SNUGGLES ARE BETTER THAN ANY WEIGHTED BLANKET My favourite part of every day hanging with Snoopy has been the way he snuggles up to me in the morning. There’s nothing like a good snuggle with a cute cuddly dog! It reminded of how important it is to move slowly in the morning as we ease into our day on the right side of the bed! ✨ ONE TINY BIT OF PROGRESS IN CHANGING A HABIT IS A SERIOUS WIN! Josh and I have been steady at it the entire time we’ve been dog sitting to work on some of Snoopy’s habits. One of them has been that he likes to not only sleep on the bed but also get under the sheets! Imagine being woken up by a cute dog pawing at you to get under the sheets every hour of every night for three weeks straight! It’s been intense! 👇 Read more in comments.

My heart is filled to the brim right now after wri My heart is filled to the brim right now after writing a note of encouragement to another NL MUSICIANS' EMERGENCY FUND recipient to help them during their time of financial need. ❤️ Even though life is full of those ups and downs that sometimes make it tough for us to always show up in the ways we wish we could, it's the little things that make all the difference! The fund's needing a major top up in order to keep helping musicians in our community. Because of this, I've organized a special NL Musicians' Emergency Fund live music and film event at @spiritbar164 on OCTOBER 21st from 7-9pm. All proceeds we raise will be donated to the fund.
