Thanks to Alex Cook of The East for the press love! ‘The Gaze’ – Live in Halifax. Shot during the East Coast Music Association (ECMA)? Conference. Warms my heart. Visit: http://www.theeastmag.com/2018/12/06/music-video-rozalind-macphail-brings-1940s-north-carolina-to-halifax-with-the-gaze
On a beautiful day last May while I was attending the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) Conference in Halifax, Sarah Denim and Nicole Cecile Holland of AT LAND FILMS shot a video of me performing an audience favourite, THE GAZE by Shona Thomson.
What a tour! Did it ever warm my heart to have my music and our films so well received in North Carolina. Here are some of my favourite TV, radio and newspaper clips collected from the tour:
Thanks to #ctvmorningatl for having me on their show! Check it out online at the following link (May 3rd episode, at around 1:14:55): https://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/ctv-morning-live
And so it begins! 1st stop: GANDER for a cool house concert at Melissa Tee‘s beautiful spot! Time for some serious Tetris action in the car. So grateful to be doing this. #PiccFlute #gemeinhardtontheroad #GemeinhardtArtist#flutegirl #flutelooper #touringlife #houseconcert #atlanticcanadatour#musicpassionlife #getyourfluteon
Thanks to the fine folks at Gemeinhardt Musical Instruments and Long & McQuade Musical Instruments, I’ll be hitting the road in Atlantic Canada and I would love to see your beautiful faces! I’m touring through NL, NB, NS and PEI and will be bringing a projector and screen with me so there will be films at every clinic and show! Join our Facebook event page if you want to be kept in the loop: https://www.facebook.com/events/173387131663602 More dates to be announced soon. Can’t wait to see ya, Atlantic Canada!
I used my Super 8 camera in Wilmington, North Carolina during my Cucalorus Festival Artist Residency and hand-processed three rolls of film with the help of Andre Silva and Mariah Kramer at UNCW Film Studies. Thanks to Dan Brawley in 2014 for giving me his precious rolls of film! “Now Accepting Food Stamps” was my reaction to feeling heartbroken about the poverty and racism I was witnessing down South. With all that’s been going on in our current world climate, it feels right to share this film. https://theovercast.ca/a-sneak-peak-of-rozalind-macphails-ecma-winning-audio-visual-project
